I can't even hear the music in GW. It's way too low compared to all the other sounds imo.

Rofl! Try going into Options and changing the sound levels

I quite like the desert music, it's nice and peaceful...

Yeah, that ranks as a defining gaming moment for me. GW was my first online RPG and that stirring theme combined with vast, beautiful areas I'd never seen the likes of before in a game was a memorable experience.

Pre-searing music in general, and the login-screen theme of the original game, are my favourites. The Cantha soundtrack bores me very quickly and I usually play something else instead of listening to it.

Oh God, yes. I will often just sit at the character select screen and stare into space while I listen to the music, regardless of how badly I want to play. :p

Default Best GW Tunes

Yep, I'm definately a bigger fan of the "Prophecies" stuff, and have the Directsong soundpack too (the first one for GW). My favourite tune would have to be Temple of Tolerance, hands down.

In fact, I'm suprised no ones picked it yet As Faowri so eloquently put it, it was one of those pure moments of gaming bliss... Running all the way to Kryta (Boralis Pass -- too long, Frost gate, much to much work :P ) ... Finally getting to the pure and white sanded beaches of Kryta, ... and Temple of Tolerance begins to play.

Other favourites would be yes, as mentioned, anything from Pre-Searing.
The theme at the Barradin Estate is particularily satisfying, and Gwen's theme is a staple.. Ahh presear, ... pure gaming bliss.

www.directsong.com ! (yes, its that easy).

You have to pay for all the sound packs but the free Sorrows Furnace one. I only bought the first one (original soundtrack and a few bonus tracks), but it was well worth it. Soundtrack quality increases immensely and the bonus tracks are awesome. My favourite bonus track has got to be Beyond the Ocean -- It's a great, epic sounding score Amazing for the vast world of Guildwars (especially in Prophecies).

Luxon areas are generally good, "Luxon Theme" and "Coastline" are pretty nice IMO. "Jade Sea" doesn't fit some places, however. Kurzick music fits the atmosphere, but the music is more ambient than anything else there.

Most of the Kaineng music is kind of off. I kind of liked it better when the only song played was "Kaineng City". (Unrelated - the "Kaineng City" track from the DirectSong OST is different than the one on the Factions preorder disk, is this the same for anyone else?)

Presearing with "First Light" is amazing.

If you have direct song, then Pre-sear, Dwc, and Divine Path are pretty good. for the "normal" music, I like the Shiverpeaks and Kryta themes, as well as the luxon ones.
